Listen to the podcast of astronaut Jim Lovell describing the Earth from space during the Apollo 8 mission to circle the moon in the 1960's. More information about the mission can be found here.

When you have heard the recording, you can answer the questions below and post them as a comment.

1. Which hemisphere of the world is Lovell looking at?
2. What is the cold region in the uppermost part of his view called?
3. Which U.S. state can he see?
4. Which region is reported as being covered by a cloud bank?
5. How is the weather described on the east coast?
6. What colour is the water, according to Lovell?
7. How does he describe the land?
8. Which parts of the U.S. are free of cloud?

Well, once I've heard this podcast I must say it is more difficult than I thought. The sound's quality isn't too good, and some parts of it are just imposible to understand.I hope I answered the questions correctly.Next time let's try to choose a podcast which can be actually understood, please.XDDDD
Well,I've noticed I'm the first one to leave a comment...what's happened with the rest of you???jajajajajaja

After listening to the recording, i believe it´s hard to understand as it´s inmensely monotonous.Anyway, after listening to it a few times, you are likely to understand the whole recording.

I think it's quite weird, and not very easy to understand. For me the most difficult part was coping with the strange buzzing. And last but not least is that I cannot stand American!

I found hard to understand the mostly the first part, but as soon as i got used to the pronunciation and i could ignore the static it was much easier... after a couple of listenings it wasn't hard to understand nearly all he said

The quality of the sound wasn't too good and at the first time I didn't understant much. However I didn't have any problems in getting the answers in the end.
